01. Project, Operator & Authority#

EconMind World is an independently created fictional multiplayer economic simulation. Samuel is its Original Creator and the holder of the applicable core intellectual property rights in his legally protected original contributions. The EconMind Technical Department contributes to technical implementation, development, and maintenance. Recognition of those contributions neither alters Samuel's original authorship nor automatically transfers contributors' individual rights to him.

EconMind is a student-led alliance without a separately incorporated legal entity. It is authorised to use, operate, administer, maintain, and further develop the Project. EconMind also organises and hosts Season One, a multiplayer economic strategy competition conducted through EconMind World Simulation. The operating role of EconMind is distinct from Samuel's ownership rights.

Samuel retains final authority over external licensing of his lawfully held core intellectual property. EconMind administers permissions only within the authority granted to it. A participant, contributor, or affiliated institution may not represent that it possesses broader authority merely by reason of participation or association.

Created by Samuel, operated under EconMind.

02. Scope & Relationship to Other Documents#

These World-specific Terms supplement the EconMind OS Terms of Use. They govern authorised access to EconMind World, participation in its simulation activities, and the use of relevant Project materials. The general platform Terms continue to apply within their scope.

Published competition rules govern the relevant season's participation arrangements, available actions, timing, scoring, and confirmation of results. Community Guidelines and Integrity Standards apply to conduct. A competition rule does not, merely by being more specific about gameplay, confer ownership, authorise undisclosed personal-information processing, or override mandatory law.

The About document explains the Project. Its Fictional Universe Disclaimer, Section 05, states the Project's core fictional-universe and rights-reservation positions. Personal-information handling is described in the World Privacy Notice, read together with the EconMind OS Privacy Notice.

These documents are to be read consistently. Any express amendment of a conflicting platform provision must be identified and validly adopted; a general cross-reference is not an implicit amendment. Mandatory law and valid binding agreements control to the extent applicable. Acceptance of participation terms does not replace consent or another authorisation where separately required for a particular use of personal information.

03. Accounts, Participation & Office Permissions#

Participants must provide accurate account information, protect their credentials, and use only authorised accounts and roles. Personal accounts must not be shared. Optional platform authentication methods do not grant elevated authority. School participants remain subject to applicable school, parent or guardian, and local participation requirements.

Season One takes place among 70 fictional economies. Each economy's responsibilities are organised through six Offices: Captain, Finance, Central Bank, Trade, Industry, and Labour. A role assignment grants only the capabilities and information access validly associated with that assignment.

Permissions depend on server-verified identity, current membership, economy, Office assignment where applicable, and valid authorisation. Neither a displayed title nor access to an interface element establishes authority. Participants must not use another person's identity, misrepresent membership, or claim that a team position permits access to every team member's private records.

Changes in membership, suspension, or withdrawal of authority affect access and subsequent action under the applicable rules. They do not, by themselves, reverse completed economic transactions, erase established facts, or extinguish accepted simulation contracts.

04. Limited Participation Licence#

To the extent that the applicable rights holder or an authorised operator may grant it, an authorised participant receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access the service, use the features made available to that participant, and use the corresponding displayed materials for the authorised educational and simulation activity.

This permission remains subject to these Terms, the applicable competition and feature rules, and third-party licence conditions. It does not transfer ownership or authorise redistribution of underlying source code, restricted data, protected assets, or confidential materials. Permission to participate is not permission to appropriate, redeploy, or commercially exploit the Project. The separate permission for ordinary non-commercial sharing appears in Section 08.

05. Economic Actions, Time & Settlement#

The simulation maintains one authoritative World State. Fiscal and monetary accounts, productive facilities, resource inventories, labour and technology conditions, and cross-border economic activity operate within that shared system. A dashboard, estimate, preview, or local display is not an independent authority to create or alter an economic position.

Formal economic actions are subject to the relevant Office authority and applicable requirements for funding, inputs, capacity, accounting, conservation, contractual commitments, and timing. Submission is not a guarantee of acceptance, execution, or a desired policy result. The same identified command must not be used to obtain duplicate economic effects.

The clock progresses at 10×: one second of effective real time corresponds to ten seconds of simulation time. A simulated year contains 360 simulated days. Applicable pause and resume rules determine effective running time; paused time does not advance as normal running time. The competition rules govern participation periods and relevant operational arrangements. No arbitrary start date, settlement deadline, or guarantee of uninterrupted operation is created by these Terms.

Funds, resources, debts, and contracts recorded in the fictional simulation are simulation positions. Their existence does not, by itself, create ownership of a real-world financial asset, a right to cash payment or redemption, or an obligation to perform an actual national policy.

06. Official Action Records & Reports#

Formally processed economic commands are recorded through a command–event–receipt structure linking the instruction, resulting economic events where applicable, and the processing outcome. Relevant records associate the actor, economy, Office where applicable, parameters, real and simulation timestamps, results, and related state changes.

Success, rejection within the command system, and an inability to proceed after authorisation changes are distinct outcomes. A request rejected before it enters that system is not necessarily a persistently recorded command. Ordinary browsing, scrolling, typing, or interface clicks are not automatically formal economic commands.

Established authoritative facts are preserved through an append-only economic history. Corrections are recorded through linked subsequent events rather than silent replacement of the original facts. This integrity rule does not create a right to retain identifiable personal information indefinitely and does not guarantee that an economic transaction can be undone on request.

The Final Simulation Report is the season or activity report used for decision review, policy timelines, economic performance analysis, strategic evaluation, team reflection, and academic discussion. It is distinct from the final processing receipt for an individual command.

The Full Report is accessible to the relevant team and authorised competition personnel, subject to applicable access and confidentiality requirements. The Public Report is a controlled version from which appropriate personal, restricted, or confidential information is excluded. EconMind manages publication of Public Reports under the competition rules and applicable privacy requirements. Team access does not authorise publication of a Full Report or unrestricted onward disclosure.

Reports must distinguish recorded facts, participant explanations, and analytical interpretation. They must not attribute private reasoning or motivation solely from an action log. The treatment of personal information in records and reports is governed by the World Privacy Notice.

07. Original Authorship & Intellectual Property#

ECONMIND WORLD IS AN ORIGINAL PROJECT CREATED BY SAMUEL. ALL APPLICABLE RIGHTS IN HIS LEGALLY PROTECTED ORIGINAL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE RESERVED.

Protected subject matter includes original expression in the fictional universe, maps, national and historical settings; protected expression of simulation rules; original settlement and simulation software implementations; qualifying initial data selection, configuration, arrangement, and compilation; original visual and interactive assets; and protected software, documentation, and official materials.

The Project also incorporates third-party software and separately licensed materials. Their respective rights and licence terms remain applicable. No statement in these Terms asserts that the entire software stack is exclusively original, that third-party code belongs to Samuel, or that independently protected contributor works have automatically been assigned to him.

General economic theories, public-domain facts, mathematical principles, abstract ideas, general algorithms, and methods are not claimed as exclusively owned merely because they inform the simulation. Protection of AI-assisted outputs and particular contributions depends on applicable law and the relevant facts and valid agreements.

All applicable rights are reserved by Samuel or the respective lawful rights holders. Public display is not, by itself, a dedication of protected material to the public domain. Permissions outside the participation and sharing licences require authorisation from a person entitled to grant them. The comprehensive categories and reservations appear in the About document, Sections 5.5–5.6.

08. Permitted Non-Commercial Sharing#

Within the rights that EconMind is authorised to grant, participants may share appropriate screenshots, gameplay recordings, and authorised simulation results for legitimate non-commercial purposes, including personal portfolios, educational presentations, school society activities, academic discussion, and non-commercial promotion.

Additional attribution to EconMind World is encouraged, but is not a mandatory condition of ordinary permitted non-commercial sharing. Existing copyright notices, embedded credits, licence notices, and authenticity markings must not be removed, falsified, or misrepresented. Separate conditions governing the EconMind badge and other licensed materials continue to apply.

This permission does not authorise commercial exploitation, systematic extraction, large-scale republication, redistribution of underlying software or confidential datasets, disclosure of restricted information, or presentation of unofficial or altered material as an authentic official publication.

Before sharing, exclude personal information, private communications, and restricted or confidential material that the participant is not entitled to disclose. Non-commercial purpose does not waive privacy obligations. A Captain, Office holder, or other team representative cannot consent to disclosure of another person's information solely by virtue of that position.

Full Reports remain restricted to their authorised audience. Public Reports may be shared within the scope of their authorised release. Any report link must be handled according to its stated audience; the existence of a publicly accessible world or country page does not authorise disclosure of a private report. No special link expiry, revocation, hiding, or download-prevention control is guaranteed by these Terms.

09. Participant Content & Contributor Rights#

Participants retain the rights they lawfully hold in their independently created submissions. Submission does not assign those rights to Samuel or EconMind.

Participants grant only the limited permission necessary to store, process, display to the disclosed feature audience, moderate, and maintain their submissions for the relevant service and its legitimate shared records, subject to applicable privacy and retention requirements. They must hold the rights necessary to make the submission and grant that permission.

A team submission does not establish that its submitter owns every contribution or may consent on behalf of every member. The operational content permission does not automatically authorise unrelated research, promotional reuse, publication of identifiable personal information, or commercial exploitation beyond the granted scope.

Technical and other contributors retain any independently held rights unless a valid agreement or applicable law provides otherwise. Acknowledgement, participation, or access to a repository is not, by itself, a transfer of ownership.

10. Fair Competition & Prohibited Conduct#

Participants must respect valid Office responsibilities, access boundaries, competition integrity, intellectual property, and the legitimate interests of other participants. Strategic disagreement, negotiation, and lawful use of available economic mechanisms are legitimate aspects of the simulation.

The following conduct is prohibited except where validly authorised or permitted by applicable law:

  1. Circumventing access controls, obtaining unauthorised privileges, impersonating another person, or misrepresenting authority.
  2. Exploiting technical vulnerabilities to evade applicable rules or obtain unauthorised economic effects.
  3. Falsifying commands, events, receipts, economic data, settlement outcomes, or official reports; concealing material interference; or misrepresenting an altered result as authentic.
  4. Introducing malicious code, disrupting the service, interfering with settlement, or compromising another participant's legitimate access.
  5. Extracting or disclosing restricted configurations, private records, confidential technical materials, or other controlled data without authority.
  6. Copying, distributing, selling, sublicensing, or commercially appropriating protected Project material beyond the applicable permissions.
  7. Using Project names, branding, or visual materials to falsely imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, ownership, or official status.
  8. Harassment, discrimination, threats, unlawful or infringing submissions, or other conduct prohibited by the applicable community and competition rules.

Fictional governmental roles and diplomatic disputes do not authorise real-world abuse. In-game actions are not, solely by occurring in the simulation, statements of a participant's actual political beliefs or official positions of a school or associated institution.

11. Competition Administration & Enforcement#

EconMind administers competition rules, event coordination, and confirmation of official results. Authorised administrators may investigate reported concerns and take lawful, proportionate measures within their responsibilities and the applicable published rules.

Measures may include requiring conduct to cease, requesting removal of infringing or falsely attributed materials, restricting or suspending access, and correcting or invalidating compromised records or results. Administrative status does not confer authority to rewrite economic history outside the command and event framework.

The applicable platform and competition rules govern reporting, administrative decisions, and any available review procedure. These Terms do not establish a separate appeal body, fixed appeal or response deadline, predetermined penalty, or guaranteed rollback facility. Concerns should be raised through the channels identified in the Legal & Policy Hub.

Nothing prevents a participant from exercising a mandatory legal right or seeking a remedy from a competent authority. A technical error does not, by itself, establish deliberate misconduct; participants must not intentionally exploit such an error or falsify evidence concerning it.

12. Fictional Nature, Model Limitations & Availability#

ECONMIND WORLD IS NOT EARTH. IT IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE HISTORY OF EARTH. IT IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OF ANY REAL-WORLD NATION, WAR, GOVERNMENT, POLITICAL ENTITY, OR GEOPOLITICAL EVENT.

Economic parameters may draw on general theory, research, and reference statistics without assigning any fictional economy a specific actual counterpart. The strict non-reference, non-representation, and non-endorsement provisions are set out comprehensively in the About document, Sections 5.1–5.4.

Simulation indicators, rankings, policy effects, and reports reflect model assumptions, abstractions, fictional configurations, and participant decisions. They are not professional economic, financial, investment, legal, tax, or other regulated advice; predictions of actual geopolitical conditions; or conclusive proof of real-world policy effectiveness or causation. External presentation must identify the fictional model and its relevant limitations.

The service may contain errors, experience interruptions, or require changes, pauses, or retirement of features for maintenance, safety, educational quality, or capacity, as addressed in the general platform Terms. Neither a season's description nor the simulation clock guarantees uninterrupted availability or a particular competitive outcome.

Nothing excludes a liability or mandatory protection that cannot lawfully be excluded. These Terms do not create an unagreed fee, prize, payment, refund arrangement, exclusive forum, or compulsory arbitration procedure.

13. Privacy, Shared Records & Account Requests#

Personal-information processing, report audiences, access categories, retention, and privacy requests are addressed in the World Privacy Notice and the general platform Privacy Notice. Intellectual property permissions are not permissions to disregard those requirements.

Leaving an Office, team, or season and deleting an account have different consequences. Loss of authority affects subsequent access and actions; it does not automatically erase a lawful shared record or reverse an established transaction. Nor does the need for an economic history provide an unlimited justification for retaining identifiable information.

Use the published platform routes for account and privacy requests. No automatic deletion of World-linked command history, complete erasure from every backup, or deletion of another participant's legitimate records is promised by these Terms.

14. Policy Information & General Contact#

Applicable changes and any required acknowledgement are governed by the published platform and World policy arrangements. Material changes must be communicated as required by applicable law; acknowledgement is distinct from any separate privacy consent. No effective date is inferred merely from the year in a copyright notice.
