EconMind League
1 A respectful academic community#
EconMind League brings together learners, independent clubs, educators and contributors for economics education and academic exchange. Participate with curiosity, evidence and respect. These Guidelines cover the project managed spaces to which they are linked. External services also have their own rules. Conduct elsewhere may be considered when it creates a concrete safety or integrity risk for participation, with reasons and proportionate safeguards.
2 Debate ideas responsibly#
Challenge a claim with reasoning and evidence. Distinguish facts, assumptions, model outputs, interpretations and value judgments. Respect disagreement and the right to correct a mistake. Criticism of the project or its leaders, raised in good faith, is not itself misconduct. Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, discriminate, exploit, stalk or repeatedly target someone, or organise others to do so.
Do not use economics examples or academic disagreement as a pretext for demeaning people or communities. Context, severity and impact matter. Moderation should distinguish a contested academic argument from personal abuse rather than suppress disagreement merely because it is uncomfortable.
3 Protect privacy and younger participants#
Do not post another person's private contact details, credentials, precise location, private correspondence or unpublished work without a lawful basis and the necessary permission. Do not pressure people to reveal age, identity documents, money, personal circumstances or information unrelated to an activity. Do not share screenshots of private discussions outside their permitted audience.
No sexual exploitation, grooming, coercion, threatening requests or abuse of a power imbalance is permitted. Leadership, publicity and technical roles must never be used to obtain private contact, favours or money from participants. Report a concerning interaction through admin@econmind.group. A participant may leave a conversation or decline private contact without retaliation.
Keep reports factual and minimise sensitive detail. An ordinary support inbox is not an emergency service. For immediate danger, use appropriate local emergency or safeguarding services. Do not investigate a suspected safeguarding incident by circulating private material or confronting a child publicly.
4 Credit work and respect permissions#
Identify authors, sources, collaborators and permitted AI assistance as the academic task requires. Do not plagiarise, fabricate evidence, falsely accuse someone of misconduct or knowingly submit a misleading report. A good faith report that is not substantiated is not itself misconduct.
Creator attribution is not permission to republish, deploy or commercially use their work. Respect the Intellectual Property Policy, the audience chosen for submissions and any Research Library permission. Do not remove author notices, imply that a creator supports your changes or present third party work as owned by the project.
5 Use roles and affiliations honestly#
School and club participation is independent unless expressly authorised otherwise. Self reported names and approximate map locations do not establish official school membership or endorsement. Do not use a school logo, an EconMind League badge or a role label to suggest authority you have not been given.
Administrators and coordinators must use their access only for assigned work, disclose relevant conflicts and keep private reports within the people who need them. Founder or leadership status does not excuse misuse. Do not retaliate against someone for a report, correction, appeal, lawful refusal or protected disclosure.
No one may solicit or receive project support, promise benefits or commercial rights, or make a financial commitment on another person's behalf without authority. A request involving personal receipt of funds must identify the recipient and terms clearly. Participation does not require making an unofficial payment or disclosing financial details to another member.
The name, username, role, profile image and contact details of a school or club coordinator must not be published by default. Obtain the individual’s specific affirmative permission; neither a school listing nor an appointment supplies it. Basic educational participation is free and voluntary support must not be made an informal access requirement.
6 Report concerns#
Email admin@econmind.group, or use an available signed-in support form, for conduct, privacy, security, authorship or integrity concerns. Include the relevant page or activity, a concise description, dates and only the evidence necessary to assess it. Never send a password, live sign-in token or unnecessary identifying information about a child. You may request restricted handling; absolute confidentiality or anonymity cannot be promised where fair review or law requires disclosure.
If the concern involves a person who normally receives reports, say so in the subject and ask for review by another authorised Leadership Group member. Access to the mailbox and the handling of conflicts must support this route; a participant may also approach a competent external authority directly.
7 Proportionate response and reconsideration#
Authorised departments may seek context, give warnings, correct or remove content and impose temporary restrictions within their mandate. Permanent bans, punitive removal of important management positions and cancellation of important qualifications require a recorded collective Leadership Group decision, with relevant conflicts disclosed and affected reviewers recused. A temporary protective restriction may be used while a credible risk is investigated; it is not automatically a final finding of misconduct. The response should consider evidence, seriousness, impact, age and context, recurrence and whether correction is possible.
For a material decision, explain the relevant reason and how to seek reconsideration, subject to privacy, safety and lawful restrictions. Give the affected person a reasonable opportunity to provide context where practicable. Record the decision and access to sensitive evidence. Where practicable, someone uninvolved in the original decision should review a challenge. Avoid unnecessary public naming or punitive disclosure, especially of younger participants.
Neither an internal rule nor a moderation decision transfers copyright, cancels statutory privacy rights or prevents lawful criticism, protected reporting or access to a court or regulator. These Guidelines will be versioned and material changes communicated through the Legal page and appropriate notices.
